Sound familiar?

Bedtime shouldn't be a negotiation.

If your evenings end in the same standoff and your mornings start before the sun, it's not you. Small children just need a clearer signal and a familiar routine.

The 5am start

They're up, you're up, and it's still dark. Every day.

The bedtime stall

One more story, one more drink, one more reason not to settle.

Another screen

You don't want a glowing tablet in the room doing the job.

Up and running in minutes

Set it once, then forget it.

1

Set your times

Tell Kip when sleep starts and when morning begins. Two minutes, one time.

2

Pop it in the room

On a shelf they can see from bed but can't reach. That's the whole install.

3

Let the colours do the work

Kip takes over the “is it morning yet?” question, so you don't have to.

Why parents pick Zeepy

Everything you'd want, nothing you wouldn't.

No blue light at night

A warm amber glow that won't interfere with sleep, unlike a phone or tablet.

Fewer early mornings

The blue “okay to get up” light gives you back those precious extra minutes.

Completely screen-free

A gentle colour cue in the room, not another device to manage or charge nightly.

Child-lock built in

Lock the buttons so little hands can't undo your settings mid-night.

Why the light colour at night actually matters.

Most sleep clocks use blue light. The science says that's the wrong choice. Blue light suppresses melatonin — the hormone that tells your child's body it's time to sleep. It's great in the morning. It's actively unhelpful at night.

Zeepy — overnight

Warm amber glow

  • Supports melatonin production
  • Warm wavelength — sleep-friendly
  • Helps child stay asleep
  • Blue light reserved for morning wake only

Science says:

"Amber and warm light wavelengths have minimal impact on melatonin — supporting the body's natural sleep onset."

Gro Clock — overnight

Blue light display

  • Blue light suppresses melatonin
  • Short wavelength — signals alertness
  • Can disrupt sleep onset and depth
  • Two phases only (sleep / wake)

The research shows:

"Blue light exposure in the evening can delay melatonin onset by up to 90 minutes, shifting the body's sleep window."

Before you ask

Common questions

What age is the Zeepy clock for?

It works best from around two to six — the ages when children can follow a colour but can't yet read a clock. Younger babies get a warm night light; older kids get a gentle alarm.

Does it use blue light at night?

No. The night light is a warm amber on purpose, so it comforts without the blue-white glow that keeps little brains awake.

Does it need to be plugged in all the time?

No. It charges over USB-C in about three hours and runs off its battery, though it works happily while plugged in too.

Does it have an alarm?

There's an optional gentle morning tone you can switch on or off. It's off by default — most families just use the wake colour.

How is it different from the Gro Clock?

Four phases instead of two, a warm amber night light instead of blue, USB-C charging, a child-lock, and there's a free companion app with stories and sleep sounds.

Do I need the app to use it?

Not at all. The clock does its job entirely on its own. The free app just adds stories, meditations and sounds if you want them.

Steadier nights start this week.

Received it yesterday. Great and small packaging. Included was the clock, charging cable and manual. Set up was easy with the instruction manual. Testing it out tonight with my 2 sons who have been getting up judging by the sun shining in morning(which will be getting earlier and earlier) so I hope with this easy toddler clock it will help them to understand when they can get up.

My daughter was an excellent sleeper, then suddenly we were struggling to get her into bed without a fuss, and was getting up far too early in the morning. This has changed everything! She's too young to tell the time, but the colour function works fantastically to give her a visual cue of when it is night time and should be in her room, and when it is okay to get up. She obeys her little cat religiously.
It was easy to set up. The brightness can be adjusted and a very important feature- the buttons and functions can be locked to stop her changing any settings.
When she's older she can use it to tell the time and it also has an alarm setting.
Great buy!

My 3 year old loves it, no volume settings for the alarm but usually wakes him up which he enjoys. Helps with bedtime too as he knows he needs to be ready before his clock turns yellow for nighttime. Easy to set up and alter if needed. Turning the brightness of the light down not not being used during the day extends the batter life by a good few days too. Easy to charge. Soft to touch and comfortable if he leaves in bed with him. Good quality and performance. Also like the cute appearance of the sloth too.

Had high hopes for this after reading reviews. Initially, the product worked fine and fulfilled the purpose we hoped. However, on receiving the box, we noted that it DOES NOT come with a charger. We had to buy a universal charger to fit the port. This worked for three or for charges but now the charging light has failed and it will not charge. I was concerned this was the adapter / connector I had bought so I bought a USB cable with the correct connector and tried this. Unfortunately, this new cable also failed to charge the clock, which leads me to conclude that the clock charging port itself has ceased to function. I’m now one day out of the returns window and stuck with a clock that will soon run completely dry. Disappointing.

Update: Since writing this review I have contacted the manufacturer and they have informed me that the product should have come with a charging cable and have been helpful in solving our issues.

I bought this clock for my nearly 3 year old daughter. Since the days started getting longer she had been coming into our bedroom in the early morning thinking that it was time to get up.

On first impression the clock appears well made. It has a nice weight to it and the casing around the clock is rubbery and tactile. It seems like it would survive a few tumbles onto the floor. We love the way It looks as if the case has sprinkles on it! It is soft enough that my daughter sleeps with the clock next to her in bed. The screen can easily be locked by holding down 2 buttons for a few seconds, this prevents accidental setting changes during the night.

The instructions are easy to follow and after setting all the times on the clock first time around, I found subsequently it was quite intuitive to change the bedtime/wake times when I needed to.

The brightness settings (choose from 6 levels of brightness or turn off the backlight altogether) are easy to change, and we have found that keeping it around the middle level of brightness the battery life is very good. I tend to turn the clock screen off when my daughter gets up in the morning. When it gets to bedtime the clock then switches itself back on and I just leave it on all night. When I do this I charge the clock just once a week but even then I don't think it really needs it because it finishes charging in 30 minutes or so.

As for my daughter, she quickly grasped the concept of the clock. She knew that she was supposed to stay in bed until the cat 'woke up'. She would come into our bedroom carrying the clock and telling us that the 'cat has turned blue' meaning that it was morning and we all had to get up We combined this clock with a sticker reward chart for every day that she stayed in bed until 'morning-time'.

We have been using this clock for a couple of months now and it has been working quite well for us. My daughter completely understands how the clock works and what is expected of her but she picks and chooses whether or not she pays attention to it. Usually if she gets out of bed before the cat turns blue she leaves the clock in her bedroom and doesn't bring it in to show us! But she at least realises that she is doing something that she shouldn't be doing instead of coming into our bedroom oblivious to the fact that it is still very early in the morning.

The time on the clock is large and clear, so when she gets a bit older it will be a useful aid when explaining what the numbers mean. It is a shame that there is no option for an analogue display.

Would definitely recommend this clock if your toddler is unknowingly getting up too early. Having compared this model to a friends Tommee Tippee's Groclock- In my opinion the features/quality on the Zeepy make purchasing this clock the much better option!

I absolutely love this little clock! Not only is it cute and a lovely character but it is durable and useful and really helps with sleep training.

I use it as a baby night light which is perfect not only for my 3 year old but also for me as she sleeps in the bedroom with us and it's not overly bright!! Just enough to cast a glow over the room and allow a sound sleep for all!

It has a USB chargeable battery which lasts up to 7 days easily. Obviously any parent would rather a childs toy or gadget came with USB charger rather than batteries which might come out if dropped.

I love it so much I am thinking of getting one for a friend who hasn't even given birth to her baby yet! Out of all the baby gadgets I have brought, this is definitely one of my favourites and well worth the cost.

Got this for our young granddaughter who is not sleeping too well. She is constantly wanting to be playing or watching tv or doing anything except sleeping. So we got this clock with the cute Sloth as her guide to sleepy times. So she was explained that this was her friend and when the sloth is asleep it is time for them both to be asleep and when he wakes up it is okay for her to be awake too. it has an easy to read digital clock time on the face and it is easy to tell when the sloth is awake and asleep. there is a complimentary app with podcasts for very soothing stories which she did enjoy but her parent did get sleepy themselves when listening to it LOL.. the clock gives off a very nice amber glow during sleep time and works great as a night light also. the blue morning awake light is brighter and less restful allowing her to wake up fully. the Clock is covered in a silicone jacket which is quite nice and soft to touch but will protect it if it is dropped which it will be because ours likes to cuddle the clock. it doesn't have any wires when in operation and is charged via a USB C cable and let for about a week on one 3 hour charge.
Lovely little item thatches helped out 3 year old granddaughter to understand a little more about bedtime and sleep time etc. This is a cute item that is worth the money and is highly recommended by our family.

This clock allows you to set the change of light colour by a timer. It comes in two slots:

Blue 4am - 2pm (with alarm function)
Amber 3pm - 3am

The alarm function only works in the blue screen, you press and hold 'set' to enter the setting, when the digits are flashing you press 'mode' once to toggle the alarm on or off.

The light brightness can also be set. On its brightest, it is a medium night light in the dark.

Whether it helps a toddler to sleep better I really don't have a conclusion. The clock is quite cute with silicone sleeve in the shape of a cat's head. The clock is just a clock with one alarm function and two colours of light, it does not do anything else. No touch screen and it comes with a USB-A to 5V charging cable, not USB-C or MicroUSB which looks outdated.

For the price of £24.99 with limited functions, I can only give this three stars.

I recently got this USB rechargeable cute kids alarm clock, and it's been a real hit with my little ones.

It's super cute! It's designed to look like a friendly character, which makes it fun for kids to use and adds a playful touch to their room.

The fact that it's USB rechargeable is really handy. I don't have to worry about constantly buying and changing batteries, and it's easy to charge up using a USB cable.

Setting the alarm is really simple, too. Even my youngest can do it with just a few button presses, which is great for encouraging independence.

The alarm itself is gentle and not too loud, which is perfect for waking up sleepyheads without startling them.

In an effort to get an extra half an hour in bed on the weekends that I have my brood of grandchildren I ordered this cute little sleepy sloth alarm clock.

Slumber the sloth has a lot of great features like a simple to set up alarm, blue and amber lights, snooze buttons, and a rechargeable battery, but by far his best feature is that there is great bedtime story telling with the Zeepy podcast, which I recommend.

Slumber the sloth is blue when it’s time to get up, and amber when it’s time to sleep, he’s resistant to being handled and the odd knock and the silicone outer is soft to the touch.

The first time we used the clock it was hilarious.
I could literally hear the grandkids chattering and discussing the fact that they should stay in bed while Slumber was asleep.

The second it turned blue, they were through and into our bed like bullets!

At the moment we are just using the clock to form healthy habits, but it is also an alarm clock so as they get older, they will use more aspects of the features available.

Slumber the sloth seems pretty well made, it’s made from recycled materials and is very cute. The battery seems good and I’ve not had to charge it yet, and this means it’s perfect to take away with us too.

It certainly doing its job, and I am very pleased to announce our extra half an hour in bed on a Sunday morning!
I would say the price is more than fair!

I hope you find my review helpful.

Best thing I’ve ever bought. My 3 year old daughter loves it and won’t get out of bed until the cock turns blue and knows when it’s orange it’s time for sleep. Easy to set up and use. I would definitely recommend.

I love this, it's so easy to use, bounces when inevitably thrown or dropped by toddler, you can customise the colours to use blue for day and orange/yellow etc for night which makes way more sense than the other way around. Battery lasts ages and charges quickly. Highly recommend!

Easy to set up. I like how it lights up in two different colors for day time and night time great for teaching toddlers when they can come out of bed and when its time for bed.

Cute little clock that soon helps children to tell the time in a fun way. Rechargeable so no mains power leads to worry about. Soft and durable, should last for their childhood.

Best thing I ever bought!
Little one was struggling to know when it was day/night during the dark mornings.
Zeepy is his best friend and he stays in bed until Zeepy turns blue every morning.

hard to set and then the whole night light/ morning light didn't continue working as needed. just use it now as a regular digital clock, but abit expensive for a clock with not much function - cant even see the time in the dark.
