❓ Zeepy Sleep Trainer FAQs

Most children start to understand Zeepy sleep trainer clock around age 2.5 – 3 years, though some families find it helpful from age 2 for building consistent bedtime routines.

Yes. Zeepy sleep clock uses an deep orange LED light at night (no blue light) and stays cool to the touch. The casing is child-safe and designed to be placed on a shelf or bedside table.

Zeepy contains a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts around 5 days on medium brightness. It includes a USB to barrel jack cable (USB socket not included). Simply connect the Zeepy cable to your clock and a standard 5V USB power source, such as a phone charger, laptop, or power bank. Charging takes about 3 hours — the indicator light turns green when fully charged. ⚠️ Important: Use only the supplied cable and a standard 5V USB charger. Other chargers (e.g. from baby monitors or Gro Clocks rated at 6V, 9V, or 12V) may cause overheating or damage. Tip: To protect battery life, avoid leaving Zeepy permanently plugged in, as this can degrade the battery over time.

Most children understand the colour cues of a sleep training clock within just a few days. Zeepy makes this even easier with our friendly facial expressions, which are instantly recognisable to toddlers. The key is to introduce Zeepy consistently as part of your bedtime routine. Some children may take a little longer — but with repetition and reassurance, most adapt quickly and begin to follow the cues naturally.

It’s completely normal at first. Keep bedtime rules simple and consistent, for example, “Stay in bed until the light turns yellow.” Gentle reinforcement such as a sticker chart, reward, or extra story time can help. Praise them each morning for following the cues, even for a short time. Most toddlers adapt within about a week, consistency and encouragement make all the difference.

Zeepy works as a soft amber nightlight designed to support healthy sleep without blue light. It doesn’t produce white noise, but you can play our calming Zeepy Sleep Podcast during the wind-down or sleep phases using your phone, a Bluetooth speaker, or a smart speaker such as Alexa or Google Home. Many families use Zeepy alongside gentle soundscapes or lullabies to create a calm, consistent bedtime routine.

Yes, if siblings share the same bedroom and follow a similar sleep schedule, one Zeepy works perfectly. Many families use a single sleep trainer clock for two or more children so everyone understands the same bedtime and wake-up cues. If your children sleep in separate rooms or have different bedtimes, we recommend one Zeepy sleep clock per room for the best results.

Zeepy is compact at 9 x 10 x 2.5cm and designed to sit neatly on a bedside table. In the box, you’ll receive the Zeepy clock, a USB charging cable, and a quick-start guide.

Zeepy comes with a 1-year warranty and our 30-day sleep-better guarantee: if you’re not satisfied, you can return it for a refund.

So far so good. It hasn't solved our sleep trouble completely but its another line of defence in the middle of the night that definitely seems to help. The orange light at night time seems like a sensible choice and my 3yo son loves telling me his cat is asleep at bed time (and settles down a bit), and enjoys telling me again when it's awake in the morning. I think as he gets older it'll help even more.

The battery seems to last a long time with the light on its lowest setting - which is bright enough.

Absolutely awful. Can turn the light off at night. Doesn’t use the traffic light system as most children know. Just awful.

Hi Stacey – thanks for taking the time to leave a review. I’m sorry the clock wasn’t the right fit.

Just to clarify, you can turn the light off at night by pressing the (–) button until it goes dark.

On the traffic light point – Zeepy is designed differently. We don’t use red/amber/green lights, and we make this very clear in the product images and description. Some families prefer the traffic light style, and there are other clocks available that offer that system if that’s what works best for your child.

I understand you’d asked about a return and refund – we’re always happy to help with that, but we’ve not yet received the clock back. Please get in touch so we can sort this out quickly for you.

Absolutely love this clock - the cat turns purple half an hour before bedtime which really helps my 20mo to wind down for bed. He's starting to understand that he needs to stay in bed until the cat turns blue, but I find the yellow phase confuses him a bit. We just love the little cat and putting it to bed is now part of our bedtime routine.

We love our clock. Bedtime was difficult and took so long, and got later and later… until Zeepy arrived. It took a few days but our toddler quickly recognised when it was time for bed when “cat is getting sleepy”. It also helped so much during the night too and we are getting amazing sleep. We love Zeepy!

Our 2.5 year old adores her “kitty clock” and it’s made a big difference to her sleep. Early morning wakes are still a challenge but she’s getting much better at staying in bed until her clock turns blue. Using the clock has also, somewhat unexpectedly, really helped with night wakes, which have pretty much entirely stopped since we bought it. Could be a coincidence but she stopped waking in the night the first week she had her new clock.
